Awareness

The Computer Science Student Council is committed to creating an environment where all students feel comfortable. If something has happened to you or someone you know that you’d like to discuss with a trusted person, please feel free to contact us with no obligation using the contact information below.

What Does “Awareness” Mean to Us?

What situations should be reported?

In principle, any situation in which one or more people involved felt uncomfortable because a boundary was crossed is worth reporting. This boundary does not have to have been explicitly set—a lack of a “no” does not mean “yes”! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us, even if you’re unsure. We’ll take the time to discuss any experiences you’ve had.

Who can you contact?

The Computer Science Student Council has its own, growing Awareness Team, consisting of Aaron Christ and Paul Bakenhus.

You can reach us via our personal email addresses christ@finf.uni-hannover.de and bakenhus@finf.uni-hannover.de or through awareness@finf.uni-hannover.

The faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science also has an Awareness cell phone, which is monitored by the Awareness representatives present during events. You can reach it at 015214410379.

Do you have any ideas on how we, as the Student Council, could become more inclusive and better handle sensitive situations?

Feel free to email us at awareness@finf.uni-hannover.de or fr@finf.uni-hannover, or come to one of our meetings! There, we’ll either connect you with a contact person or discuss your suggestion in a plenary session.
